After the first day, a pair of Czech players – Aleš Kořínek and defending champion from 2020 – Ondřej Lieser, were in the leading position, who played the fantastically prepared Legend course for 4 shots under par. Two other Czechs – Štepán Danek and Filip Mruzek – were one stroke behind.

Before the second, final round, Aleš Kořínek knew that defeating Ondřej Lieser would be an extremely difficult task. “Aleš Kořínek: “When Ondro starts playing well, he is unbeatable. I can beat him with a good game, or he can beat himself. But it’s not just about Ondro and me, there are other good players behind us, so of course I have to play good golf in the second round and try to win.”

The best Slovak representative was professional Anika Bolčíková, who played the first round in pairs. Anika, who, in addition to top golf, also competes in bikini fitness, admitted that she didn’t calculate her score too much and after the 18th hole, she lived in the belief that she had played one shot over par. Anika Bolčíková: “The end didn’t work out too well for me, because I already had a score of -4 during the round, but at least the overall par made me so happy in retrospect.”

Aleš Kořínek finally became the winner of the 6th Penati Slovak Open for the first time. The Czech golfer maintained his leading position after the first day even in the second round, when he achieved a total score of 7 shots under par. He beat compatriot Štepán Danek and the “co-leader” from the first day, Olympian Ondřej Lieser, by one stroke. In addition to the trophy, Kořínek won a wild card for the Swiss Challenge Tour tournament and took home a bonus of 10,000 euros. Aleš Kořínek: “Let anyone say what they want, the money will help all of us who win it.” They will help me a lot for the winter and I’m glad I did because it really makes things easier for me. At one stage, she was even on the leaderboard with a score of -5, but she paid for her lack of experience. Nevertheless, participation in the TOP 10 means a lot to her. Anika Bolčíková: “I went to the tournament with humility and I didn’t know what to expect.
