Penati Slovak Open Championship 2026 – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

General Information

1. When does the Penati Slovak Open 2026 take place? The tournament runs from 6 to 9 September 2026. The Pro-Am is held on Sunday 6 September, while the championship itself is played over three rounds on Monday 7, Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 September 2026.

2. Where is the tournament played? At Penati Golf Resort on the Legend Course (Nicklaus Design), Šajdíkové Humence 453, Slovakia. The Legend Course is among the most beautiful courses in Europe and is home to the longest hole in Europe.

3. Which edition is this? 2026 marks the 10th edition of the tournament. Its history began back in 2017.

4. What is the tournament format? A professional individual stroke-play tournament, gross scoring, played over 3 rounds. After two rounds a CUT is made for the top 30 professionals, who advance to the final round.

5. What is the prize fund? The total championship prize fund is €30,000. The winner receives €10,000. The Pro-Am prize fund is €1,000 for the winner.

Registration and Fees

6. How do I register? Registration is done online via the entry form (Typeform) available on the tournament website in the Tournament 2026 section. PRO players register through the ENTRY system.

7. Who can take part? The tournament is open to all members of PGA associations and selected amateurs who have received or won a wild card.

8. What is the entry fee for professionals (PRO)? €320 if paid before 31 July 2026. If payment is not made by 31 July 2026, the fee increases to €360. Prices include tax.

9. What is the entry fee for amateurs (AM)? €500 (including tax). An amateur player must be a wild card holder.

10. Is there a wild card without qualification? Yes, a wild card without qualification costs €1,230 (including tax).

11. By when must I pay the entry fee? No later than 4 September 2026.

12. How many players can take part? The number of players over 18 holes is limited to 120 players per tournament, with a sequential (tee-time) start.

Game System and Rules

13. Which rules apply? Play follows the SKGA competition regulations, the Rules of Golf and the tournament’s local rules.

14. Which tees are used? Men: Black 6539, PAR 73. Women: Yellow 5820, PAR 73.

15. What are the start times for each round? The first and second rounds start at 8:30 a.m., the final (third) round at 9:00 a.m. The start is sequential.

16. Where can I find the start list? The start list is published on the SKGA website the day before the tournament, after 5:00 p.m. Any changes to start times or format are announced on golfslovakopen.sk, skga.sk and pga.sk.

17. What is the maximum time allowed to complete a round? The maximum time per flight is 4 hours and 25 minutes. Arrival after this time is penalised – 1 penalty stroke is added for every 10 minutes.

18. What happens if I am late to the start? Arriving late to the start by up to 5 minutes means 2 penalty strokes (or -2 STB points). Arriving more than 5 minutes late means disqualification.

19. How is a tie for first place resolved? In the PRO category, a Play-Off is held on holes designated by the competition committee when scores are level. In the event of a continued tie, the holes are repeated. If light conditions no longer allow fair play, the committee may end the competition and split the winner’s prize money equally among the play-off participants.

20. When will the results be announced? Results are announced within 10 minutes of the last player in the last flight handing in their scorecard.

21. Must I be present at the prize-giving ceremony? Yes. In the event of a win, PRO players sign the official prize document and must be present at the prize-giving ceremony, otherwise the prize money is forfeited in favour of the competition committee. Prize money is paid to the account stated in the entry form.

Dress Code and Equipment

22. What is the dress code? Players must comply with the dress code before the tournament begins: a collared shirt, long trousers and golf shoes. Breaching this rule is punishable by disqualification.

23. Can I use a mobile phone and measuring devices during play? Yes. Mobile phones for recording online scores and electronic measuring devices (rangefinders) are permitted.

24. Which app is used for scoring and results? The Genius Golf App is used. The access password for the 2026 edition is: SLOVAKOPEN26.

Practical Information

25. Are meals provided? Yes. A post-round lunch with a choice of three meals is provided for players. The preferred menu must be selected during registration.

26. What is the Pro-Am and when is it played? The Pro-Am is an accompanying tournament for event partners, played on Sunday 6 September 2026. Tee off from holes No. 1 and No. 10 is at 9:30 a.m. The winner’s prize money is €1,000.

27. Is there a programme for children? Yes, the Chip & Putt Slovak Open U10 takes place on Sunday 6 September at 2:15 p.m. as part of the Pro-Am day.

28. Where can I buy official merchandise? At the official tournament e-shop at shop.golfslovakopen.sk.

29. Who organises the tournament? The organisers are SKGA and PGA TOUR SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. (promoter), with PGA SK o.z. as co-organiser. The tournament director is Peter Petrovič and the head referee is Rasťo Michalák.
