Jubilee 10th year of the Penati Slovak Open

Jubilee 10th year of the Penati Slovak Open

On Monday, Penati Golf Resort will once again become the center of professional golf in Slovakia.

On Monday, September 7, the first round of the 10th anniversary Penati Slovak Open – the most prestigious tournament for professional golfers in Slovakia – will kick off.

An international field of players in both the men’s and women’s categories, including players with professional status, will compete for a prize money of 30,000 euros over three days, with the winner taking home 10,000 euros. The tenth year marks a significant milestone for the Penati Slovak Open.

The tournament, which was created with the ambition of creating a quality competitive opportunity for professional golfers in Slovakia and allowing domestic players to confront foreign competition, has gradually become a respected international event.

The anniversary year promises an extremely interesting lineup from eight countries. Tournament ambassador and 2019 winner Rory Sabbatini will return to the Penati Golf Resort, Adam Puchmelter will defend his title, and other former champions Ondřej Lieser and Aleš Kořínek will also be at the start. Among other players, the Slovak colors will be represented by Lukáš Zušťák, who comes in excellent form after his victory at the Czech Open Golf Tour in Kácov in August.

The main professional tournament will begin on Monday, September 7th and will be played over 54 holes over three days of competition. The anniversary edition is closer not only to the players but also to the fans.
The tournament will be available to watch via livestream, so the action from Penati will be available even to those who cannot make it to the course in person.

Download the official Golf Slovak Open App and watching the tournament live will be easier for users, in addition to the live stream, the application will provide current player results and other important notifications, information throughout the tournament week.
The basic information is that after the first two rounds, there will be a CUT, which will be passed by the TOP 25 players and all players in a tie for 25th place. They will enter the decisive final round on Wednesday, September 9.
The total prize money will be 30,000 euros, while the winner of the anniversary Penati Slovak Open will receive a check for 10,000 euros.

The Penati Slovak Open is also part of the CPG International Series, an international series of tournaments played from Abu Dhabi to Las Vegas, which culminates with the final tournament in Belgium at the end of September.
The golf festival in Slovakia begins the day before the main tournament, on Sunday, September 6. In addition to thanking supporters in the partner Pro Am tournament, the Chip & Putt Slovak Open for children under 10 years of age will be held on Sunday, which will be held on the training grounds of the Penati Golf Resort.

The Ryder Cup Development Trust was also interested in the combination of a professional golf tournament with the support of the youngest generation. The cooperation brings another dimension to the project and brings the atmosphere of professional golf closer to children, shows children where golf can take them one day, and at the same time allows them to be part of a major professional event today.

The anniversary year is an opportunity to look back at the path that the Penati Slovak Open has taken in ten years. From the first years to the victory of Rory Sabbatini, the growing international starting field, participation in the CPG International Series, livestream to its own tournament application and projects supporting young golfers.

Players change, the tournament grows and new projects are added. However, the basic idea remains the same – to create a space for quality professional golf in Slovakia, to give Slovak players the opportunity to confront international competition and to bring this sport closer to the next generation.
On Monday, September 7, the anniversary chapter of the Penati Slovak Open will begin.
