Penati Slovak Open is ten years old. Its history is now available on mobile.
The Penati Slovak Open is entering its tenth anniversary year. Since its first tournament in 2017, it has come a long way – from the two-round Slovak Championship Open with prize money of 10,000 euros to an international professional tournament with a prize fund of 30,000 euros, livestream, children’s Chip&Putt and its own mobile application.

When the first Slovak Championship Open was held in September 2017 on the Heritage Course at Penati Golf Resort, no one knew what history the tournament would make.
The first winner was Czech professional Petr Nič, who won with a score of -10 and set a new course record. The tournament was played over two rounds and its prize money was 10,000 euros. (golfslovakopen.sk)
Since then, each year has gone down in history with its own story. The winners, the tournament format, the amount of prize money, and the way fans could watch the action on the field have changed.

One of the most striking stories is Ondřej Lieser. He was there from the very beginning and is one of the players who made the history of the tournament. In 2019, he had a memorable duel with Rory Sabbatini, which ended in a playoff on the 18th hole. A year later, he won and took home the highest bonus of 10,000 euros at the Penati at that time. Lieser remained faithful to the tournament in subsequent years. Forever second Lieser, when in 2025 he fell behind the winner Adam Puchmelter by one shot.(golfslovakopen.sk)
And it is stories like these that make the Penati Slovak Open more than just another tournament on the calendar. Each year has brought its own name, its own fight, and its own memory. Today, however, the history of the tournament is not only made up of results.

The Penati Slovak Open has also gradually changed the way it communicates with players and fans. The tournament has added online scoring, livestream and digital materials via social media. The tournament has not been interrupted even during the Covid period, electronic score cards, online results, start lists and an electronic Hard Card have been introduced. (golfslovakopen.sk) Thanks to technology partners Konica-Minolta and Orange business, the broadcast was launched via the official YouTube channel and the footage went global.

The organizers do not want to see it as just a technological novelty for the tenth anniversary. Its goal is to bring together information about the tournament in one place and bring it as close as possible to players and fans.
The app will include Tee Times, the tournament program, a continuous leaderboard, a live stream, news and important notifications.
A player can check their tee time or current information before arriving at Penati. A fan doesn’t have to be right at the 18th hole to know what’s going on on the course. You don’t have to be at Penati to be part of the Penati Slovak Open. All you need is a phone, which almost the entire population has these days.
From professionals to the youngest
Perhaps even better than the app itself, the development of the tournament shows its connection with the youngest generation.
Chip&Putt Slovak Open was created in 2022 as part of the golf festival, the Penati Slovak Open tournament week. It is intended for children under ten years of age and is played on the training grounds of the Penati Golf Resort.

The first winner in 2022 was Tereza Hájková, ahead of Danny Dědek and Nick Sciranka. (golfslovakopen.sk)
The children’s tournament has since found its place in the Penati Slovak Open program. The original premiere has become a tradition and one of the most beautiful parts of the entire golf week. On the one hand, professionals fight for the title and 10,000 euros for the winner, on the other hand, children who may be just starting their golf journey.

And in this anniversary year, these two worlds will be connected a little more. For the first time, it will be possible to watch a live stream from the Chip&Putt tournament – directly in the Penati Slovak Open App.

It may be just a small children’s tournament today. But in a few years it might be interesting to look back and say: “This player or this player started right here.”
Ten years of history. And another chapter ahead of us.
The Penati Slovak Open began in 2017. Since then, each year has made history. From Petr Nič to Filip Mrůzek, Rory Sabbatini and Ondřej Lieser to the last winner, Adam Puchmelter. (golfslovakopen.sk)

In addition, in 2025, the tournament was played over three rounds for the first time, entered the world Amateur rankings, and continues as part of the CPG International Series. (golfslovakopen.sk)
The tenth anniversary year will come in 2026. Rory Sabbatini, the winner of 2019, will also be at the start, returning to the site of his memorable duel with Ondřej Lieser. (golfslovakopen.sk)

And with it comes another record in history. The tenth year. The tenth winner. The highest prize fund in the history of the tournament. And for the first time, an official mobile application.
However, the application is not the goal, it is another way to bring the Penati Slovak Open closer to the people. To the players who need to know when they start. To the fans who want to follow the results. To those who cannot be at the Penati, but do not want to miss the action.
